Marcel Frieson, 55, passed away unexpectedly on October 7th, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Marcel was born on June 3rd, 1969, in Milwaukee, raised in Chicago, and resided in Waukegan where he spent his formative years. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, dedication, and willingness to always be there when needed.
More than anything, Marcel was a devoted father. He loved spending time with his children, family, and telling stories. He was always there to offer guidance, support, laughs, and encouragement, no matter what challenges he faced. He was a beacon of joy and laughter, always finding a way to bring a smile to our faces, even in the toughest of times. His humor was infectious, and his love for his children was boundless.
He had a unique gift for turning any situation into a moment of joy. Whether it was through his jokes, his laughter, or his unwavering support, he always knew how to lift our spirits. His presence was a source of comfort and happiness, and his legacy of love and laughter will forever be etched in our hearts.
In his free time, Marcel enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was walking to the beach, taking the train to Chicago, going camping, or just going wherever his feet would take him. He was a jack of all trades—from being an amazing artist to remodeling a whole house. He’d help wherever and whenever he could. Marcel was always eager to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with others. His infectious personality lit up any room he walked into.
Though he is no longer with us, his memory lives on in the countless moments of joy he brought into our lives. We will always cherish the times we spent together, the lessons he taught us, and the love he shared so generously.
Marcel is survived by his wife, Julie Frieson; his mother, Esther Frieson; his brother, Demetrious Frieson(Diana); his children, Courtney, Joshua, NeKydra, and Jazlynn; his granddaughter, Peyton and his grandson on the way. He was proceeded in death by his father, Herman Frieson Jr.; and brother Shawn Frieson. Marcel also leaves behind many extended family members who he deeply cherished.
He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us every day. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him. May his soul rest in peace.
