Obituary For Dennis Vernon Hedgecock
Dennis Vernon Hedgecock, 75, of Janesville, WI passed away on February 12, 2022 after a long battle with poor health. He was born to parents Robert Shannon Hedgecock and
Jeanette Marjorie (Brandenburg) Hedgecock on December 15, 1946 in Savanna, IL.
Dennis graduated from Janesville High School in 1965 and went on to study Physical Education at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. However, he received his greatest education when he began to study the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1973 and then symbolized his dedication to Jehovah God by baptism on April 21, 1974. While he worked in the paint shop at the Chrysler Auto Plant in Belvidere for 32 years, he was known more as a preacher of the good news of God’s Kingdom for almost 48 years.
He enjoyed playing a variety of sports, chess, cribbage and most anything that involved strategy. He loved watching his children grabbing hold of a new sport or hobby, teaching them what he already knew about it (basketball, Green Bay Packers, tennis or fastpitch softball) or learning from them whatever he didn’t know about it (automotive repair, golf, snowboarding). He strived to immerse himself into the study of the scriptures and share what he had learned with his family and many others.
Dennis and Mary Alice (Hessenauer) Hedgecock were married on August 11, 1967. Together they raised 4 children – Christopher Hedgecock, Mathew Hedgecock, Jonathan (Laura) Hedgecock and Susanne Hedgecock.
He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Jeanette Hedgecock and is survived by his wife and 4 children just mentioned along with his 2 granddaughters Ava and Adele Hedgecock.
He will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor, his love for his neighbor and God, his protective nature and love for his family and his desire to teach others about God’s Word.
His family would like to thank Tina Pfaff for 13 years of specialized care taking and also a great thanks to our congregation for their love and support but most of all their prayers in our behalf.
He is now in the safest place possible – Jehovah God’s Memory.
Revelation 21:4 – And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.
